The school splits its teaching across two bases with different jobs. Basic Keelboat runs on Biscayne Bay from the Miami Yacht Club on Watson Island, four days (or two weekends) on 20-to-26-foot keelboats in classes of three to five. The cruising end lives in Key West, on Stock Island, where a five-day accelerated program combines Basic Keelboat and Bareboat Cruising and finishes with an International Proficiency Certificate for chartering abroad.
The fleet covers the whole arc: small keelboats for fundamentals, a Beneteau Oceanis 34.1 and Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 440 for cruising courses, and a Bali 4.1 and Lagoon 52 for the catamaran endorsement, taught as a two-day add-on or five-day course on big twin-engine cats. Challenge exams let experienced sailors test out.
Pricing is all-inclusive, bundling the US Sailing certification package and a year’s membership into the course fee, and the operation runs charters and yacht management alongside the school. Booking runs by email for exact dates.
