ASA sailing schools in Florida

The American Sailing Association's certifications are the most widely recognized way to learn to sail in the US, and what most charter companies want before they'll rent you a bareboat. These Florida schools run ASA courses, from your first day on the water to bareboat cruising and beyond.

The core ladder is ASA 101 (Basic Keelboat) → 103 (Basic Coastal Cruising) → 104 (Bareboat Cruising), often earned in a week or two on the same boat. Many schools add ASA 105 (navigation), 114 (catamaran), and more. Aiming to charter? Pair this with bareboat charter requirements; want a multihull? See catamaran sailing in Florida.
