Chartered in February 1911, the club is one of the original thirteen members of the Florida Council of Yacht Clubs, present at the creation of the reciprocal network that now defines private-club boating in the state. That seniority is not decorative: over a century on Clearwater’s water has left the club with deep racing roots on this stretch of the Gulf Coast, and a clubhouse position on Bayway Boulevard with the pass and the open Gulf minutes away.
The measure of the current program is what it produces. The club raises money to push its youth sailors toward the top of the sport (explicitly championing Olympic ambitions) and backed local sailor Noah Lyons on his road to the 2024 Paris Games. A club that can point at an Olympian and say “ours” is making a different kind of argument than one that points at its dining room.
Membership carries reciprocal privileges across the FCYC network, and the regatta calendar keeps the racing tradition running in both directions: hosting, and sending crews out.
